About Tipton Lakes Athletic Club
Welcome to Tipton Lakes Athletic Club!

Tipton Lakes Athletic Club is one of the finest health, fitness and recreation facilities in southern Indiana. TLAC is a for-profit club operating in Columbus, Indiana with a commitment to the social and physical development of the men, women and children in the greater Columbus area. As such we pledge the following:

  • To provide quality facilities, programs, and instruction
  • To treat each member as though the success of our Club depends on that individual alone
  • To integrate each and every member into the programs and services offered
  • To hire qualified, caring staff and to give them the opportunity to reach their full potential
  • To serve as a community resource and to support the social, philanthropic and economic needs of the community
  • To provide quality programs and services that will meet future community needs and to coordinate efforts with other existing community organizations wherever possible

Membership Benefits

When you join Tipton Lakes Athletic Club you have access to the whole facility including our courts, fitness area, childcare and locker rooms. Most group fitness classes are drop-in, no charge. Some, such as Pilates, require prior sign-up and have a charge. Racquetball courts are free for members; tennis courts have a per-hour charge. The weights and cardio-vascular fitness equipment is waiting for you to use them. Lessons, clinics, and leagues all are offered at a reduced price to our members (although we welcome members of the community to join in these fun fitness activities). We also have personal trainers and certified massage therapists on staff, available for you to hire.

We encourage every new member of Tipton Lakes Athletic Club to take advantage of the complimentary fitness and health risk assessments, which show where you stand on the national scale for healthy living and how your family history, nutrition habits, and other lifestyle elements may affect your risk for future disease and health complications. In this way you will know your current health and fitness condition before you plan a fitness program.

We also offer complimentary personal orientation sessions with our fitness staff during which you will learn:

  • how to use the fitness equipment, both cardiovascular and resistance machines
  • proper form for resistance training exercises, to maximize safety and effectiveness
  • a specific training program personally designed to suit your individual present fitness level and both your short and long term goals
  • variations of our current workout
  • information that will help you make good decisions about exercise in the future.

The orientations will help make your workouts safer, more effective and more fun!

Membership Plans
You can join Tipton Lakes Athletic Club as an individual or a junior member (high school student or full-time college student under 24) and add your spouse and/or children (under 21 living at home) for a reduced amount. You can join for a day, a week or as many months as you like, but for our best rates and more fitness benefits, join for a year - we think you will make Tipton Lakes Athletic Club your home for fitness, health and fun!
